| (We never got Annabell Lee's picture) 67) Annabell Lee is a young (one year old in early 2006), gangly, oversized Sheltie with a tremendous zest for life. She is one of the most affectionate dogs we've known and is practically fearless. However, she suffers from congenitally bad knees in her hind legs. She recently had surgery on one knee to correct the problem (unstable patella, or knee cap). Happily, our veterinary orthopedist told usthat she will not need surgery on the other knee.
Annebell would love to run all over the place with other dogs, kids, or adults, but we suspect that she shouldn't be taken jogging on hard surfaces or on difficult, steep hikes.
Late Breaking News: Control of Annabell Lee has been taken away from us (it's a long and painful story, so please don't ask). Therefore, she will not be adoptable from us. We have been told that an adopting family has been found for her. |
66) Cassie was loved and cared for by a family that finally relinquished her to us because of conflicts between Cassie (who is about 7 years old without any known health problems) and a much younger dog. When Cassie came to us, she was incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. She quickly won a place in our hearts.
After staying with us for only a couple of weeks, Cassie was adopted by a wonderful family, but the family's existing dog was jealous of having a "new kid" in the house and the family reluctantly concluded that they couldn't keep Cassie without causing too much pain to their existing dog.
However, after being back with us for only a few days, this extremely sweet girl found her forever home, along with her adopted brother Tobi with a wonderful couple who simply couldn't live without her. We're so happy that Cassie and Tobi, who had become fond of one another while in our care, were able to stay together. |
65) Tobi's family became too busy to give him the attention that he really needed. Instead of leaving him lonely all of the time, they contacted Sheltie Rescue of Utah.
Tobi is about 6 and 1/2 years old (in early 2006) and is extremely well-behaved and perfectly house-broken. We find him to be very gentle and quite happy to be given affection.
This lovely gentleman readily found his forever home, along with his adopted sister Cassie with an incredibly wonderful couple who instantly fell in love with him. We're so happy that Tobi and Cassie, who had become fond of one another while in our care, were able to stay together. |
64) This is Trisket. This beautiful Border Collie is just under two years of age (as of January 2006). She was kept outside her whole life, but that's never going to happen to her again.
She was deliberately and commercially bred to a Golden Retriever "for some Christmas cash". Her owners relinquished her to us in January because they "couldn't afford to keep her".
Trisket found her forever home within a week of arriving at Sheltie Rescue of Utah. She was adopted by an amazing couple who are ecstatic at having this loving furkid in their lives.

63) Bisou was found wandering around Provo Canyon by a woman who owns two Shelties. For two months, this wonderful woman put up flyers, called vets and shelters, trying to find her owners. When nobody claimed this lovely Sheltie -- and her landlord began asking when she' would reduce the number of dogs in her home to the permitted number -- this good samaritan contacted Sheltie Rescue of Utah.
This girl was so loving and playful and filled with kisses that we named her Bisou (pronounced "bee-zoo", it is the French word meaning "kiss"). She was with us for only a couple of weeks before we found a wonderful gentleman in St. George who really wanted a Sheltie just like Bisou. A couple of visits later, Bisou went to her new forever home. We miss her, but successes like these make us feel sooooooo good. |
62) Koda was brought to Sheltie Rescue of Utah by a family whose economic situation required them to move into a small apartment and were forced to give him up. This lovely Sheltie was as nice and loving as anybody could possibly want. It took mere days to find a wonderful couple who gave Koda his permanent home. |
61) Molly belonged to an older gentleman in Washington County, UT, who passed away. This man's adult children, who already had dogs of their own, tried in vain to find a perfect home for Molly. When they were unable to find the right home, they brought her up to Sheltie Rescue of Utah for placement.
Molly was the sweetest, silliest little Sheltie-girl and it took no time at all for us to find a perfect home for her with a wonderful woman who happens to have a disability that limits her mobility and frequently uses a wheelchair. Molly was unfazed by the wheelchair and is a very happy Sheltie being this woman's forever companion. |
