Autumn was originally turned over to Sheltie Rescue of Utah,
Inc., via the Tooele Shelter, which was so overcrowded that they asked
us to pick up two-year old Autumn directly from her relinquishing
family's home. Autumn is a wonderfully sweet, loving, and very bright
little girl. Everybody who meets her "Autumn-atically" falls
in love with her!
A lovely family with an absolutely adorable, rather young, Sheltie
puppy contacted us after seeing Autumn's photo on this web site.
They wanted both to have the pleasure of rescuing a Sheltie who
needed a home and to get a companion for their puppy. After reminding
them that it's the job of a big sister to teach her little brother
lots of bad habits, we were delighted that they chose Autumn to
share their lives. Autumn is one lucky girl to have found such a
wonderful, loving home!

Molly had only been with us for a few days (about 4 or 5)
when a gentle man came for an introductory visit to Stetson. This
man fell in love with Stetson immediately,
and asked if he could meet some of the other Shelties in our program
so he could consider fostering one for us. Among the dogs he met
was Molly, and he also fell in love with her. Only a few days later,
he let us know that he really wanted to adopt both of them, so we
scheduled a second visit. Both of his existing Shelties got along
with Stetson and with Molly, so we were easily convinced that this
would be a loving, permanent placement for Stetson and for Molly.
We are, of course, delighted that Molly, who has been renamed "China",
found a home so quickly, but we find ourselves a bit wistful that
we didn't get to spend more time getting to know her!

After living in our home for over a year, Stetson (who had
some serious fear issues when he came to us) really matured and settled
down. He has learned an awful lot about trusting and is tons of fun
to play with. We were able to rough-house with him as long
as we didn't really hurt him, of course and he took it all
in stride. We continues to believe that Stetson needed to be adopted
by a family who is willing to work with him on those trust issues,
and the perfect adopter for Stetson came along!
A wonderful single man contacted us, asking if he could be of any
help to Sheltie Rescue of Utah, perhaps by fostering for us. He
saw Stetson on our web site and thought that Stetson was gorgeous
and that this rescued Sheltie needed the kind of attention and care
that this man could give him. When he came over for his first visit
to meet Stetson, he also met Molly/China and
fell in love with both Shelties. The end result: a wonderful man
enjoying the company of two wonderful new Shelties to augment the
two already living with him. What a storybook ending to a very long
story!

Sassy is an adorable (notice that striking blue eye), six
year old, petite-sized Sheltie who was very much loved by his elderly
owner who unfortunately passed away. Before coming into the Sheltie
Rescue of Utah program, Sassy spent a difficult year, living first
with one family member and then another, then being placed with
several different adopting families, none of whom worked out. Sassy
very much wanted a quiet home (even though he himself is not always
a quiet little boy).
When the right family came along, it was obvious that Sassy had
found his "forever" home. His new family loves him as
much as he could wish for and they will certainly live happily ever
after. He accompanies his new Mom when she visits her clients. To
our delight, Mom, Sassy, and the clients are all thrilled that he
gets to accompany his Mom.

Sammy was relinquished to us by a family who was in tears
at having to say goodbye to him, but circumstances made it impossible
for them to keep him any longer. He's is a handsome, five year old
male Sheltie who demonstrated a moderate preference for bonding
with a female human companion, but turned out to be able to bond
with males, too. Sammy is significantly oversized at 21 inches tall
(at the shoulder) and weighs in at 64 pounds.
Sammy was adopted by a family in southern Utah and has settled
into the life of a ranch dog! He spends his days helping his "dad"
do chores around the ranch and helping his "mom" with
the housework. His new family knows that they must regulate his
meals so that he loses weight and maintains a better weight for
a Sheltie his size. He is a very fortunate Sheltie to have found
a perfect new home!
