Charlie is a big bundle of love, very well house-trained, loves other dogs, people, and kitties. Charlie is estimated to be about 7 years old.
For a Sheltie, Charlie is obese at 45lbs. We have him on a diet. He needs a wonderful loving owner who will continue to help Charlie lose weight with appropriate portions and high quality dog foods that will help him lose weight.
From the comprehensive blood panel we've learned that Charlie has a mildly elevated liver enzyme that should be monitored every 6 to 12 months over his life time.
Charlie was picked up as a stray and spent 11 days in a shelter while attempts were made to locate the contacts connected with his microchip. When we picked up Charlie his teeth were in such poor condition that we went straight to Cottonwood Animal Hospital for blood work, urinalysis, and antibiotics and pain medication. Charlie is scheduled for a dental on April 5th. It's expected to be a major dental with extractions.
