Hospice Care
Much more often than we would like, we find ourselves rescuing a Sheltie who is simply unadoptable, often because of his or her age, but just as often because of serious health problems. It's rare for somebody to contact us wanting to adopt an unadoptable dog, so those dogs are placed into hospice care in the home of one of our foster families. Sheltie Rescue of Utah usually covers all medical bills for our hospice care dogs, because what we really want is for these poor boys and girls to live out the rest of their lives knowing that they are loved and wanted regardless of their medical problems or their age.
The dogs you see on this page are currently in our hospice care program. When they eventually reach the end of their lives, we move their stories to our Rainbow Bridge page to give them the honor and recognition that they deserved during their lives.
