Rogue is, as you can see from the photos, a VERY pretty girl who has been very well trained not only in basic obedience, not only with good house training habits, but also in agility. However, our Rogue is a Sheltie with idiosyncracies. She does not like men. She will bite someone that she doesn't know who tries to get too close to her, corner her, or pick her up. With the human female that is her life companion, she is a very good girl. In fact, for Rogue, that person is the center of her universe. That person should still be gentle and relatively slow-moving around Rogue until she really gets used to you and bonds.
Rogue was originally named Bonnie Jean. She was sold as a puppy by a local breeder to a young couple with very young children. The couple was expecting another baby and realized that Bonnie Jean was not a good fit for their family. They sought out Sheltie Rescue and relinquished her to us.
Rogue is a very talkative Sheltie-girl. She will alert you to everything that moves. Her vocalizations can be controlled but you'll have to be willing to impress upon her that this is not a behavior you like...unless you really enjoy barking!
Rogue wants very much to please whoever is her Mom. She wants to be a very good girl and she wants to be very close to you. Rogue is used to being crated and is comfortable in her crate however she's used to living her life around the house --- uncrated. She cuddles up in bed and snuggles very happily.
To adopt Rogue please fill out the Application for Adoption on this website. Feel free to call us at 801-942-4762. Rogue's adoption fee is $350.00.
More about Rogue
Is Not Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
Special Needs: Rogue needs a female adopter who will be loving and patient with her while she bonds with her new Mom. Rogue will not do well with any men in the household. Under the right circumstances Rogue is an intensely loving companion who wants her Mom all to herself. Under other circumstances...if she's frightened or pushed...she will bite. Rogue is not good with children and should not be left with children, especially young ones.
