As you can see from the photos, Gretchen, is not only photogenic but a very beautiful Australian Shepherd girl.  We've wormed her, spayed her, vaccinated her, and microchipped her.  She has a lovely personality...full of warmth and love for the people she knows.  She's very cautious with strangers and shy but if she's with someone she knows and loves she can be introduced to new people nicely.  She's much more shy of men than women.  Her rescuer has seen her stand and receive attention and gentle head scratches from a group of children while she was on a leash.  She didn't try to run or get away.  Gretchen is the kind of girl who takes strength from being with someone she trusts especially when she encounters new situations or situations that might otherwise be difficult for her.  We think that she's likely to be a dog that bolts out the front door and maybe bolts in general when she has that possibility.  She was found as a stray.  At that time she was a very frightened girl who didn't know why some woman was chasing her.  She didn't know we wanted to love and care for her.  Gretchen is currently being boarded at Second Chance for Homeless Pets.  She gets about 5 hours of play time with other dogs and with supervision, each day.  But Gretchen would do much better and be much happier if she had a home of her own.  An adult home with people who are smart enough to not let their little Gretchen-girl get away from them and then get scared and go running, would make a wonderful home for Gretchen.

Another thing you should know about Gretchen is that she's very smart and watches what's going on around her very carefully.  With the right family Gretchen is going to blossom and be a very affectionate, loyal, and caring companion.  If you think you're interested in Gretchen please call Barbara at 801-942-4762.  Gretchen's adoption fee is $200.00.
