Baby was living outside before she came to us, but sleeping inside, at night, in a crate.  She’s now used to living inside and is mostly, if not entirely, house-trained.  She is a barker under certain circumstances.  When she runs and plays with other Shelties she seems to need to bark.  She really wants a human to bond with.  She’s still a little chunky and needs to continue losing weight.  Her coat is growing in – her previous owners had her coat clipped back a lot.  I would be tempted to do a thyroid test on her to see if she’s low thyroid because she’s overweight and is VERY food driven.  At times, she can be a bit pushy with other Shelties here but she’s not really dominant.  When I’m sitting at my desk working she’s right at my feet.  Which is where she is right now.  She also has shown some itchiness which is either seasonal (we’re at the height of allergy season here) or she has dry skin that may be thyroid related.

She really loves sleeping in bed or next to our bed. For more information please feel free to call Barbara at 801-942-4762.  If you think you might be interested in adopting Baby or any of the dogs listed with Sheltie Rescue of Utah please go to www.SheltieRescueUT.org and register and fill out our Application for Adoption.  Although Baby, herself, is priceless in terms of her endearing qualities, intelligence, and the unconditional love she has to give, her adoption fee is only $300.00.
