Flair comes from Wyoming where she was turned over to a Utah family that was going to take good care of her and not breed her.  In truth, they got her in the hope of making some money by breeding her not knowing that a good breeder spends at least as much money as they make, and probably more, if they give Momma dog and her puppies the care they need.  The person who got Flair, along with Libby, moved out of her house and into an apartment, where she couldn't have the dogs, just a few weeks after getting them. A month after being moved to Utah the dogs were being advertised for sale.

After we picked up Libby and Flair we were able to track them back to their owner who, due to illness, needed to place them but loved them all the same.  We contacted her to let her know her Shelties were with rescue and to let her know that they are doing well.  As you can see, especially from the video, both Flair and Libby are sweet, somewhat shy girls with the breed characteristic of being somewhat reserved until they get to know you.

Flair is a very pretty 3 year old Sheltie girl.  She currently needs to be spayed.  This will be done before she's placed.  Our policy is not to place any dogs until they're spayed or neutered.  Our policy is also to evaluate any medical needs and address them and share them with the adopting family. Flair will also be microchipped, possibly vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested, and given a dental, if she needs one.

Flair is another Sheltie with a great personality --- she very much wants to bond with her people and is very good with other dogs.  Flair is also good with cats.  Flair wouldn't mind children but is not likely to be interested in them or in playing with them.  She's a softer personality that will do best in a quieter household or with older children who might like a special companion to confide in.  Flair would benefit from some training and from some fun toys.  She's a very smart girl and that, combined with her desire to bond, will make her fun to train whether it's basic training or cute tricks.

If you're interested in possibly adopting Flair please go to our website at www.SheltieRescueUT.org and fill out our Application for Adoption.  If you have questions, please call Barbara at 801-942-4762.  The adoption fee for bringing the joy of Flair into your home and into your lives is $325.00.
