Show bred Collin is so far very un-enthusiastic about showing in the ring. We are searching for a quiet home with dog savvy people who will love and be loved by Collin.

Autumn Dark Shadows “Collin” is  a very handsome show bred Sheltie from a wonderful Sheltie breeder named Cherie Hyde who has a hobby kennel.  You can look up information about her kennel, Autumn Shelties and Papillons, at this url: http://www.autumnshelties.com.  Collin is by GR. CH. Akadia-Chandelle Steel and Flames out of Autumn Darkness Falls (maj. pointed). Collin is a tri-colored Sheltie and, as you can see from his photo and video - he is very striking in appearance.

Collin isn't sure he wants to be a show dog.  He's absolutely sure he wants a Mom or Dad or both, who will love and care for him whether or not he shows in the ring and whether or not he remains a somewhat shy and insecure Sheltie-boy.  Because of Collin's timidity and skittishness he can have you chasing around after him in the backyard for quite some time - trying to get him back inside the house.

There is a great video of Collin included in this listing.  You will see him running and playing and carrying around a tug toy.  Except for his staying out of range of the hand of the man playing with him, you won't see how he can be very insecure.  An example of his insecurity is that once he's in the backyard to go potty or to play, you need to herd him back into the house (which takes a LOT of time) or you have to have a long line or a trailing leash to help get him back indoors (and he must be an indoor dog).  It isn't easy and it can be time consuming.  Collin needs a very patient and loving adopter who is also an experienced dog owner, knowledgeable in training techniques or willing to go to training classes.

Collin is just over one-year old and has been to his first shows. He is a very finish-able Conformation Show prospect, but to be finished, he will require a dog savvy person with training experience to help him gain confidence for the show ring. Currently, Collin doesn't find the show ring fun - but the feeling is that he might if the right person or people worked with him, one on one.

Through Sheltie Rescue, Collin is available as a companion Sheltie and not for the show ring.  All Shelties adopted from Sheltie Rescue are spayed and neutered.

Collin would benefit from Obedience work to help him overcome some insecurities. He is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained, with his bark softened.  Collin is currently on a diet of Innova dog food.

The best home for Collin will be a quiet, primarily adult home.  Collin's breeder is so concerned with getting the right home for Collin that she turned to Sheltie Rescue for assistance.  Collin's adoption fee will be donated to rescue.  Collin needs a wonderful home that will support his growth and allow him to blossom.

If you're interested in more information about Collin or are interested in adopting him, feel free to call me at 801-942-4762 or go to our website at http://SheltieRescueUT.org and register and fill out our 3 part Application for Adoption.  Collin's adoption fee is $400.00.
