Cassie is a sweet nine year old female who is the Mom of two other Shelties that we took in at the same time: Dakota and Gypsy. Cassie was used as a breeding dog even though she is not breeding quality by any stretch of the imagination. She deserves a life of being spoiled and pampered after having worked hard and raising lots of puppies. She was a great Mom to her pups when she got here. We watched her intervene just by walking between her puppy and an adult who was getting irritated with Dakota's bouncy, precocious behavior.
Cassie once was used to living outside, but that's all changing now. She's sometimes a little afraid to come inside when all the other dogs come inside after going potty. We have to coo at her and lead her inside to help her learn that it's okay...this is her new way of living. Cassie is very smart and very loving...she's going to be a great companion dog.

Special Needs: Cassie has no special needs other than someone who will be patient with her during their initial time together. She's cautious at first but then becomes very friendly and cuddly --- which is what she wants more than anything. She will be skittish at first and precautions should be taken not to let her get out of the house or get loose...she'd probably be too frightened to get her to come back.
