Lucy will be one years old on February 26th making her a Pisces!  We are working on her house training skills which have improved dramatically in just one week.  Lucy is now going potty on command.  Today we noticed that she indicated that she needed to go potty by going to the door but you really had to be watching to notice that she was trying to let us know she needed to go outside and go potty. Lucy gets a treat reward whenever she goes potty outside especially if she's done it in response to our command, Go Potty.

Lucy is very smart and has been learning at a very fast pace. Lucy likes to stay right next to her person wherever you are in the house, throughout the day.  She will kick up a fuss when you leave. We try to give her something to chew on that she likes when we're going out. Right now we are crating her when we're out running errands (because we're still house training her and she is, after all, still a puppy at 1 year of age and she is doing some chewing on things she shouldn't chew on).

Lucy has been to a basic obedience class but came out of an extremely busy household so we’re sharpening her up on those commands as well.  Whoever adopts Lucy should continue to work on basic commands especially the life saving command HERE or COME.

Lucy is very loving and just wants to lay by your feet if you’re watching TV.  She loves to cuddle.  She LOVES her toys and especially her ball.  Lucy is pretty good at playing fetch although she doesn’t bring the ball ALL the way back to you but she does get pretty close.  She gets along very well with other dogs and loves to play.  She is still doing a little bit of puppy chewing so a new owner will have to watch out for that.  We expect puppy chewing until around 1 ½ years of age.

Lucy is an over-sized (larger) Sheltie and for a one year old is a bit chunky so while we're insuring that she gets a very nutritious puppy food we also are watching the quantity of food she's eating.

If you'd like more information about Lucy or if you're interested in adopting her please go to our website http://SheltieRescueUT.org and register and then fill out our online Application for Adoption.  You can also call us at 801-942-4762.  The adoption fee for this bundle of love we call Lucy is $385.00.
