Evie is a very tiny Sheltie-girl (about 1 year old in Autumn 2006) who thinks she's a Rottweiler-sized dog. She's fearless most of the time, very smart, and very lovable. Evie started off with poor socialization and, as a consequence, used to be fearful. In our home, she's learned a lot about other dogs, households, and people to become a much, much braver girl. She continues to need exposure to new people and activities, but she quickly realizes when there's nothing to be afraid of and reverts to Evie-the-big-Rottweiler mode. Evie learns very quickly and is completely devoted to "her person" and is very driven to be responsive. She occasionally chews on something she shouldn't, but she's still a kid and still learning. Evie tries to be the top dog in the household. She plays well with other dogs, but can get aggressive around food. She will need to eat separately from other dogs who may be in the household, rather than in the same room with them.
Evie will not do well with very small children. Her adopting family needs to take her to training classes and will have a lot of fun being at the head of the class with this very smart girl! Evie has the potential to be an outstanding agility dog. She's very athletic and nimble.
Evie's adoption donation is $350.00.
