Animal Success Stories
Most of the dogs whom we rescue find new forever homes where they live happily ever after. These are our success stories, and we'd like to share them with you. For a variety of reasons, we can't add a photo and story about every dog whom we've ever rescued and placed with a new family, but many of their stories are here.

Evie
Evie came to Sheltie Rescue a very scared and frightened little girl who'd been purchased so that she could be bred, puppies sold, and money earned for dental care. In her past home, Evie wouldn't come out from under the bed, so a leash was kept on her all the time. She barely ate anything and wouldn't go outside to go potty because she was too afraid.
In Evie's new home with Judi and Kjell Christophersen, she's queen of the castle! Workmen doing some remodeling work at her home have to stop their work when it's time for Evie to go potty, so that there's no noise to distract the queen from attending to her personal needs. Evie couldn't have found a better Mom in Judi, who dotes on Evie and spoils her.
Laddy
Laddy is a very handsome Idahoan Sheltie who is about two years old. He's a very smart Sheltie-boy, but he's easily worried by loud voices that something is wrong and that he's to blame. We wonder where he got that idea from? In his previous home Laddie, became used to jogging with his Dad and became a lean, muscular Sheltie, maybe a little too lean. He was somewhat underweight when he arrived here. A regularly jogging or hiking dog needs a very high quality food and more food than a sedentary dog.
Laddie loves to play with toys. He'll toss a toy into the air and play with it on his own, take it apart with great enthusiasm, or bring it to you so you can join in the fun too. He loves tug-of-war and catching soft toys. A very loving Sheltie, Laddie needs someone with some dog savvy because of the quick escalation of his anxiety. In these situations, he needs someone who'll recognize that it's time to help Laddie de-escalate and know how to accomplish that.
